If the departure of Raf Simmons of Dior last week didn’t rock the fashion world enough, this afternoon, The Business of Fashion reported that Alber Elbaz is stepping down as Creative Director of the luxury fashion brand, Lanvin. Mr. Elbaz is credited with transforming the French house in 2001 to a thriving business that changed the course of fashion in the ensuing years. His designs celebrated beauty and women. Mr. Elbaz released this statement to WWD:

The designer, Raf Simmons is exiting Dior after a three and a half year stint with the LVMH owned brand. Prior to his hire, John Galliano was at the reigns of the French house from '95 to 2011. This news has no doubt rocked the fashion world—his modern take on the brand has been heralded by press and buyers alike and there was no indication of him being ousted by management. The change seems to be based on Simmons desire to pursue other interests. Mr. Simmons statement is below:

William Wegman the artist whose humorous photos of dogs in human situations have delighted the world has partnered with the Italian brand Maxmara. Their relationship dates back to 2001 in tandem with the brand's 50th anniversary. Wegman was asked to create a series of eight images with the dogs wearing Maxmara's iconic camel coat which were exhibited in the boutiques. The traveling photo exhibit is again in New York In celebration of the renewal of "Dogs in Coats." Maxmara will run a special reproduction of the thirty limited edition 101801 camel coats.
