Monk Collection’s Fine Cashmere for Him and Her

By cutting out the middleman and selling from the artisans’ studio directly to consumers, the Nepalese brand offers the softest luxury cashmere in the world for the best prices. For centuries, Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley region has been knows as the center of fine cashmere, and is now also the home of MONK Collection’s talented artisans – the hands behind the newly successful brand’s gorgeous collection.

An entire handmade collection from start to finish, each of the processes that make up MONK’s designs require human touch. The knitting is done using hand­flat machines that require significant experience and care, packaging is hand­made in Nepal using paper that is also hand­made, and every button is carved and stitched by hand. It doesn’t get any more real than that!

In addition to providing products of top quality and elegant style, social responsibility is also a central part of the brand’s mission. MONK Collection invests a portion of its proceeds to the Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust, an organization dedicated to preserving the architectural heritage of the region in which its artisans live. MONK is also exploring a partnership to donate a portion of its raw cashmere yarn to the 108lives project, an NGO based out of NYC that uses cashmere as an important part of its revitalization program for disadvantaged youth.

The entire collection, offering a variety of soft earth tones including tans and grayish blues, is made of flawless 100% cashmere. Even though MONK Collection is essentially a menswear brand, their neutral and classic designs look (even more) gorgeous on women as well, and are especially practical now that the NYC snow is coming for us.
