Reese Witherspoon’s California Country Digs

The Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon recently gave an exclusive peek at her country style home in Ojai, California in the September issue of Elle Décor. The beautifully designed ranch inspired home features colorful textiles, century-old hardware, fireplaces, arches, turrets, original stonework and Spanish tiles all restored by the previous owner, Million Dollar decorator and celebrity Kathryn Ireland. The Spanish-style home was originally designed back in the 20s by Wallace Neff and later revamped decades later by Austen Pierpont.

In March 2008 Witherspoon purchased the home for $5.8M from Ireland around the same time the country house was featured in House Beautiful. Ireland listed the home at $6.95M. Alomg with this purchase the star dropped $7M on another Los Angeles estate owned by Steven Seagal in 2010.

Elle Decor includes images of different styles used throughout the home with the help of designer Kristen Buckingham. The designer made use of a neutral color palette, along with ikat pillows, animal themed art, Turkish rugs, antiques and traditional seating. The outside includes a barn, two guest cottages, each has a private bath and fireplace, a pool and horse paddock, making this country home a must-see.
