Donald Trump and Mitt Romney will join forces at a lavish fundraising dinner in Manhattan tonight, but the “Dine with the Donald” luncheon scheduled for today has been postponed. Following yesterday’s historic Supreme Court ruling upholding President Obama’s signature healthcare initiative, reports stated that Romney would step out of the dinner and remain in Washington to handle the blow to his campaign. But Trump Executive Vice President and Special Counsel Michael Cohen insists that’s not the case.
“Despite the multitude of erroneous reports today, I can assure you Mr. Trump and Gov. Romney both look forward to seeing one another this evening,” Cohen said. He did concede that the “Dine with the Donald” event, a contest endorsed by Team Romney that gives one lucky winner a chance to break bread with Trump and Republican presidential candidate, has been indefinitely shelved. Tonight’s fundraiser will be held at the home of finance wiz Martin Zweig in the Pierre Hotel.
