One of the most popular and coolest bars in Sin City is The Griffin. It has remained a staple on the famous Fremont Street East in Downtown Vegas, even as newer and trendier bars have opened. A go-to destination for locals and visitors  alike, this timeless bar truly has something for everyone.

When you walk into The Griffin, you will notice the dark, rich color palette, vintage leather booths and two fireplaces that serve as the centerpieces of the place. On any given night, this place fills up faster than just about any bar Downtown and you should plan to arrive early if you want to secure a prime spot by the fireplace.  The Griffin is open Monday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. to  4 a.m., and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., meaning you can pretty much always grab a drink here.  Plus, there is never a cover charge or pretentious dress code enforced. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more affordable bar on Fremont Street East, as you can get draft beers on tap and signature cocktails for a fraction of the cost from some of the newer contemporaries. The bartenders here are friendly and knowledgeable and there’s an excellent selection of beers and cocktails on the menu to choose from. The Griffin is the kind of place that makes you feel right at home from the onset and that’s a big reason why so many people frequent this downtown destination night in and night out.

While there is often live music in The Griffin’s back room, it’s the bar’s signature jukebox that really steals the shows. Loaded with classic and obscure albums, patrons make sure that there is always a steady stream of sing-a-longs blaring from the speakers. But make no mistake, this is not the type of bar that’s going to play Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” five times in one night, eclecticism is the name of the game here.

When you’re looking to drink like a local does in Las Vegas, head downtown and hit up The Griffin. You’ll be treated to a proper night out in the heart of Sin City that will make you want to visit every time you’re in town.
