If you thought all the best gourmet restaurants in Las Vegas were only found on The Strip, the elegant Andiron Steak & Sea is currently changing the fine-dining landscape in Sin City. Located in the Downtown Summerlin outdoor shopping center, this new culinary masterpiece is a homage to all things grilled, roasted, shucked and seared.

The Andiron concept comes from the powerhouse culinary team of Kim Canteenwalla and Elizabeth Blau, who have been prominent figures in the Las Vegas restaurant scene for over 15 years. In recent years, they’ve become beloved for their casual fine-dining concepts like the nearby Honey Salt restaurant. For Andiron Steak & Sea, the duo set out to create an elegant dining environment as well as serve a fusion of both classic and contemporary dishes that are seemingly simple yet prepared to perfection.

When you walk in, you’ll first notice how large the restaurant is and marvel at the sophisticated decor. There’s also a very spacious outdoor patio for al fresco dining during the warmer months. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the specialties at Andiron are prime cuts of steak and fresh seafood. All of the steaks are cooked on an apricot-wood burning grill and come served with fresh seasonal garnishes and the signature Andiron peppercorn sauce that is the perfect compliment.  The grass-fed, dry-aged New York strip is a standout selection as is the wagyu skirt steak. There is also a massive 36 oz Tomahawk Chop that easily serves two. The raw bar shellfish selections at Andiron include fresh Maine lobster, giant prawns, king crab and you can even enjoy seasonal delicacies like sea urchin toast. Vegetarians fear not, as Canteenwalla has some incredibly creative dishes for you to enjoy like a whole roasted cauliflower steak that’s very much an entree as well as sweet side dishes like gourmet tater tots and a macaroni and cheese waffle.

We also recommend coming here for brunch as there is a special menu of fresh and organic offerings to savor. There are shareable plates like lobster rolls, varieties of smoked fish, avocado toast and the homemade donuts plate is a can’t miss. Our favorite dish on the menu has to be the the eggs benedict with added poached lobster that has been generously coated in butter. It comes served on a warm whole wheat English muffin and includes organic eggs, shaved porchetta, breakfast potatoes and spinach for one of the most decadent eggs benedict dishes you will ever encounter.

As we look back on the best of Las Vegas 2015, it’s easy to see why Andiron Steak & Sea is topping the lists of fine-dining critics and foodies alike. It’s important to start your new year off right, so treat yourself to an unforgettable Sin City gourmet dining experience that isn’t found on The Strip.
