Las Vegas doesn’t boast the sort of major fine art galleries that are found in New York City, Chicago or Los Angeles, but the Bellagio Hotel’s Gallery of Fine Art comes awfully close. Its current featured exhibit, “Picasso: Creatures and Creativity,” brings over forty of the acclaimed works of Pablo Picasso to Sin City and is an absolute must-see for fine art lovers.

The Bellagio is known for its high-end art and design pieces that can be found throughout the luxurious property, but its AAA Five Diamond award-winning Gallery of Fine Art houses some really impressive collections. Over the years the Bellagio has featured exhibits showcasing the works of Claude Monet, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Ansel Adams and Vincent Van Gogh among others. The current “Picasso: Creatures and Creativity” exhibit includes some of Picasso’s most celebrated paintings, linocuts and lithographs that span from the 1930’s through the 1960’s. All of the featured works in this exhibit have been organized in close partnership with the Claude Picasso Archives and emphasize Picasso’s unique way of capturing the human form through his signature use of line, movement and color techniques. From his realism period to his signature abstract art, the Bellagio exhibit really shows the natural evolution of Picasso’s art. In a particular coup for the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, there is a very special piece titled “Profile of a Woman with Blue Hair” that was originally created in 1938, featuring a depiction of one of Picasso’s lovers, Dora Maar, and has never been shown to the general public before.

Walking through the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is a refreshing Sin City experience as you are really able to savor all the beautiful pieces of art that have been compiled. Spending time here makes you forget you’re even in Las Vegas, as the sleek yet simple atmosphere is very reminiscent of the galleries of New York City or Chicago. It’s definitely a great way to savor some impressive and iconic works of art that you don’t normally get to see.

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art will be displaying “Picasso: Creatures and Creativity” through Jan. 10, 2016, so don’t miss your chance to see this once-in-a-lifetime art exhibit.
