Veterans Day is a day of reflection dedicated with much honor and respect to those who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Nationwide restaurants are offering specials to celebrate these veterans and active duty military that include everything from a free cup of coffee to a full entrée for dinner. Many local Boston haute spots will be offering specials throughout the day to honor and thank these brave men and women for their service to our country. Here’s a look at the top five:

1 Frost Ice Loft

Frost Ice Loft and Massachusetts Fallen Heroes are paying tribute to the Massachusetts men and women who served and gave their lives fighting the Global War on Terrorism with an ice sculpture replica of the 50-foot commemorative obelisk set to go up in Seaport Square Park in spring 2016. The monument is on display now through Veterans Day.

2 Papa Razzi Metro

Papa Razzi Metro in Burlington is offering all veterans a complimentary authentic Neapolitan pizza on Veterans Day from 5 to7 p.m. with the purchase of an entrée (we recommend trying the basil rigatoni with pulled chicken and shitake mushrooms). The Italian restaurant located north of Boston focuses on dishes using simple ingredients sourced both locally and from Italy with authentic Neapolitan-style pizza made by a certified Pizzaiolo.

3 Cask ‘n Flagon

Cask ‘n Flagon knows best how to salute our veterans and active duty military by offering a complimentary entrée. Both the Boston and Marshfield locations are welcoming our American heroes for lunch or dinner as a way of saying thanks for their service and sacrifice. We recently visited the Marshfield location and sampled Chef Donley Liburd’s menu that focuses on comfort fare. Get started with some nachos and wings and move onto a delicious fall specialty (pumpkin and chicken ravioli), juicy steak tips or hearty rack of ribs with side of mac and cheese. After indulging at the Marshfield location, head to nearby Hanover to Personal Armour, owned by former Army Ranger Eric Magee, who will show you how to train to get into the best shape of your life.

4 Bar Louie

Also near Fenway Park, Bar Louie offers veterans and active military a complimentary appetizer or entrée today and tomorrow (November 10 and 11). From burgers and pizzas to ahi tuna and steaks, there is something for every appetite. There is a second Bar Louie location in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

5 Thinking Cup

Thinking Cup is expressing their sincerest appreciation for the service of all veterans tomorrow by offering them a complimentary drink of their choosing. Choose from an espresso, latte or macchiato to a French hot chocolate, brown sugar lemonade and chai latte to enjoy with one of their delicious pastries.
