The 67th annual Emmys Red Carpet fashion show did not disappoint and gave viewers of the celebrated awards show before the show. Fall is around the corner, and in preparation for the season we’re setting our sights on the perfect trendy-but-classic layers, knits, overcoats, accessories and more to take us through the season. This year, Fall is all about florals, lace and fluid silhouettes with a nod to 70s hippie glamour: think wide leg pants paired with a lace, high-neck Victorian blouse (a look that is both on trend and appropriate for South Florida). Suede on suede is also a prominent trend this season, but translating a head-to-toe suede look to South Florida (cue the fans, please) can be challenging. Instead, we suggest investing in key pieces, like a suede mini skirt in a rich cognac color, or a handbag like Chloe’s Faye shoulder bag. Styling Fall trends in warm weather is all about balance: just a touch of suede, cashmere or heavier fabrics with airy, lighter pieces that speak to this market year round.

His collections are skillfully designed, from construction to embellishments, and Rousseau’s point of view is strong and apparent in each of his pieces. The young designer has quickly gained a loyal following of A-list clientele, with starlets like Taylor Swift, Cameron Diaz and Katie Holmes choosing his intricate shoes for red carpet events galore. And while the collections alone are mesmerizing, to know the man behind the shoes takes what was a liking for this particular footwear designer to an all-out love affair with all things Jerome C. Rousseau.

Change is in the air for fashion shows. Up to now fashion shows gave out invitations to celebrities, bloggers, editors and retailers only— leaving out the public at large. WWD reports today that the “too cool for school” French brand, Givenchy, who is presenting their spring summer fashion show in NYC, will open the invitations to the public. Riccardo Tischi, the creative director will be in town for the event as well as the opening of their first New York flagship on Madison Avenue. It’s reported that 1200 “real people” will attend including a grouping of students from local fashion schools like Parsons, FIT, High School of Fashion Industries, and Pratt Institute.

We recently popped by the POPSUGAR offices in downtown San Francisco to interview Lisa Sugar, the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief, for our September/October tech issue. We were curious to how this woman who runs the No. 1 site for female millennials gets through her day, handling work, three young children and a husband, Brian, POPSUGAR’s co-founder and CEO. During our visit, we simply couldn’t resist asking her about her fabulous hair because we were so taken with her luscious auburn locks!
