Kristin Cavallari Discusses The Inspiration Behind Her Children’s Clothing Line

Kristin Cavallari first made a name for herself when she shot to fame on “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills.” Since then, the current host of “Paradise Hotel,” who is married to former NFL star Jay Cutler is now also heading into the third season of “Very Cavallari” on E!,

We caught up recently with Cavallari to discuss the inspiration behind her clothing line and how her three kids provide assistance when coming up with new designs.

Tell us a little about what inspired you to create your children’s clothing line, Little James.

My kids, of course. Since having my first son, I had been wanting to get into the kids space but it was never the right opportunity. With the success of Uncommon James, I figured I could just do it myself (like UJ), I didn’t need to wait for a partner.

What are some of your personal favorite picks from the line?

The Lakeview dress is my favorite for girls and the bomber for the boys. I’m really excited about the summer and fall collections though (summer out soon). They are much more me than the previous collections. The first few collections are always trial and error and I finally feel confident designing.

Have your own three kids offered some personal guidance when it comes to creating new designs?

Yes! Not only are they my fit models, but I ask their opinion on EVERYTHING. The whole point for Little James is to have clothing that both mom AND kids want to wear. I want my kids to love these clothes and be excited to wear them.

Not only is the line functional and fashion-forward, but also eco-friendly.  How important was that to you when you were thinking about Little James?

Very important. I only want the best for my kids, like every mother. And since having kids, I’ve grown to care deeply about our environment. I want our planet to be here for my kids’ kids and so on.

What’s up next for you?

Just focusing on Uncommon James and Little James and hopefully continuing to grow them at the rate I have been. I’m also about to start filming season 3 of “Very Cavallari” on E!
