Adrien Brody Presents Hooked in St. Tropez

Haute Living will be there, along with co-sponsor Bagatelle Beach, when Adrien Brody shows his “Hooked” exhibition at the Bel-Air Fine Art Gallery in Saint-Tropez. The gallery is esteemed and has locations in Paris, Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Dubaï, Gstaad, Verbier, Geneva and more.
The show, which debuted in New York in early June to a celebrity-packed audience that included Robert De Niro, Brooke Shields, Michael Strahan and Brett Ratner, featured fun, pop-art take on fish, a theme that will be perfect for the fishing village-turned-hotspot of Saint-Tropez. “This series references our culture’s evolution to being “hooked” on convenience and instant gratification,” says Brody, who will be in attendance at the opening party, which is Saturday, July 16th.
Saint-Tropez produced rosé Bertaud Belieu will flow at the opening, which promises to be a party going late into the night. From the sneak peak that the Manhattan opening afforded us, the work looks even more ornate than his first public exhibition. Colorful koi fish, a funny Rick James/Warner Brothers fish painting shows he still has the humor while gaining better and better technique.
The growth is to be expected. Although Brody has been painting for pleasure for years, it wasn’t until, encouraged by artist friend Domingo Zapata on summer, he took a break from films for a year and a half to focus on painting. He has dived into it head-first, often painting at his studio in upstate New York. Multiple social media posts have shown the actor-turned-artist, happily covered with paint while honing his new craft.
Haute Living was part of Brody’s first exhibition in Miami during Art Basel 2015 that drew celebs like Leonardo DiCaprio. The show was in conjunction with Domingo Zapata and had a pop-art theme of “Hamburgers, Hotdogs, and Handguns” as a commentary on violence and the unhealthy side of fast food society.
