This holiday season, The Miami Beach EDITION is once again spreading the festive cheer in a unique and sustainable way. This year, they unveiled their annual Festive Tree, a creation by local sustainable artist Jenna Efrein. Efrein’s innovative design draws inspiration from her recent adventures with Rescue A Reef, an organization dedicated to coral restoration. The result? A stunning “Ocean Life, Our Life” festive tree that not only captivates with its beauty but also serves as a powerful symbol of environmental awareness.
The 10-foot tall tree officially made its debut and what makes it truly special is its commitment to sustainability. The tree will be adorned with repurposed glass ornaments, all crafted from recycled glass generously donated by the restaurants at The Miami Beach EDITION. This eco-friendly approach is a testament to Efrein’s distinctive sustainable style.

The tree itself is a masterpiece of upcycled artistry. Its aquatic-themed design features a mesmerizing emerald-green glass school of fish spiraling around the tree. Fragments of endangered coral are delicately layered in between, adding depth and significance to the installation. At the tree’s pinnacle sits a kiln-cast starfish, a symbol of life and resilience. To complete the experience, a mangrove bench and a Hawksbill turtle stool will accompany the tree. These pieces are crafted from conserved glass beer bottles and maple veneer wood, paying homage to the vibrant marine life and crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

To commemorate this extraordinary creation, MATADOR BAR, the glamorous 1950s-inspired lounge within The Miami Beach EDITION, will introduce a specialty cocktail. This cocktail, perfectly curated to complement the essence of the festive tree, will add a warm touch to the season’s festivities. Crafted with Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Starr Rum, Blanc Vermouth, Crème de Menthe, and garnished with colored sugar ‘glass,’ this opaque libation embodies the tree’s ethos. It pays homage to Efrein’s creative reuse of recycled glass and aligns seamlessly with the commitment of The Miami Beach EDITION to provide a sustainable hospitality experience.
