Romero Britto Takes His Work From The Canvas To The Big Screen

Muse Storytelling has just unveiled the production of a new biopic, Britto, centered around the iconic life and artistic journey of the contemporary icon Romero Britto, the founder of the Happy Art Movement. The film will provide unprecedented insight into the life of Romero Britto, examining the events that influenced his work and featuring interviews with notable figures from the art world and beyond.

The Brazilian-born and Miami-made artist has made a name for himself as one of the most famous and celebrated living visual artists in the world. The lifestyle brand BRITTO®, that Romero has created has propelled him beyond the realm of the arts, adding to his reputation as the most collected and licensed artist in history.

Recognized as one of the most distinguished living visual artists, Romero is known for his striking pieces that incorporate elements of cubism, pop art, and graffiti painting. By infusing his art with vivid hues and daring designs, he has created a unique visual language that exudes joy, fun, love, and hope. These optimistic impressions throughout his work resemble his overarching purpose and have inspired millions.

“Over the past forty years, I’ve had the honor of bringing people joy through my artwork and portrayals of pop culture icons, royals, world leaders and so many incredible people,” said Romero Britto. “It is the beautiful people, fascinating places, and bountiful memories that have inspired me, and in turn, inspired The Happy Art Movement. Britto’s work has been showcased in some of the most prestigious galleries and museums across 120 countries including the Carrousel Du Louvre and London’s Hyde Park where he holds the record for the largest public art installation. Britto’s unparalleled experiences throughout life will complete this film as he took part in notable events such as the opening of Super Bowl XLI and the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. He also served as the official artist for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, was an ambassador for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, and was an honorary torchbearer for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The biopic will include conversations with prominent contemporary figures including world-renowned classical music sensation Andrea Bocelli with his wife Veronica Berti, celebrated fashion designer Domenico Dolce, Legendary musicians Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan, Grammy winner DJ Khaled, and famed actor and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, amongst other notable figures.

The production of “Britto” is underway and expected to conclude in late 2023. Romero Britto himself has expressed his enthusiasm for sharing his story with the world, as the highly anticipated film will acknowledge Britto’s immense impact on the art world and celebrate his long-lasting legacy.
