The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) celebrated the winners and honorees of the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday, June 4th at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. The ceremony was hosted by Issa Rae, the star of HBO’s hit show ‘Insecure’.

Sander Lak for Sies Marjan won the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent, which was presented by Karlie Kloss. He will be provided with generous financial support from Swarovski as well as exposure to the company’s vast and innovative crystal resources.

Kim Kardashian West, who won the organization’s inaugural “Influencer” trophy, gave perhaps the most light-hearted speech of the evening, saying, “I’m kind of shocked I’m winning a fashion award when I’m naked most of the time.”

Entertainers Cate Blanchett and Lupita Nyong’o were among the glamorous guests at the Brooklyn Museum, where nearly two million Swarovski crystals fashioned the evening, in pieces such as a crystalized sculpture and hanging mobile, crystal podium, table top décor, winners walk backdrop, and more. Each guest received a limited-edition Swarovski crystal fashion patch. Nadja Swarovski, Jason Wu, Kenneth Cole, Rosie Assoulin, and Tabitha Simmons designed patches which are available for purchase at five Swarovski locations in New York City though June 14th, with 100% of proceeds benefitting the CFDA Foundation.
