Die-hard Clippers fans have a luxe new hangout at STAPLES Center: courtside seat-holders and VIPs can now chill in the Lexus Clippers Courtside Club.

As created by the $1.2 billion national construction management firm Shawmut and Meis Architects, the focus for the 200-person space was to ensure that the club could easily be set up before games and dismantled quickly after. How does that work, you might wonder? We’ll tell you. A temporary entry vestibule was created that can be disassembled in just an hour. Branded movable tunnel creates stealthy access the club, while mesh partitions on tracks section off the space; the interior features a custom carpet that rolls up and furniture that can moved with ease. The team also leveraged the existing lighting system to create a separate one for the space, complete with neon and LED signage.

Those lucky enough to hang out in this moveable space will discover furniture provided by an Italian company (Pedrali) who designs and manufactures all of their furniture in Italy using sustainable practices with an emphasis on reducing waste, a mix of illuminated (both LED and neon) and non-illuminated signs used as accent pieces, as well as video game stations that lend the space an arcade-like feel, a wire fabric drapery system used to enclose the space and custom fabricated accent “clouds” that hang from the ceiling – both illuminated and non-illuminated.

Club-goers will be happy to know that nearly a full bar is on offer, including beer, wine and liquor. Multiple food stations offering different and diverse offerings are also available, with menus that change for each game. Items served include sushi and carved meats, while soft serve ice cream is always on offer.

The club space will serve as a home for not only VIP Clippers fans, but as the staging area for major concerts and award ceremonies at the venue.
