Aston Martin Reveals Vanquish Zagato Speedster
Aston Martin and Zagato in a single sentence is enough to get the pulse up for any car enthusiast. Based on the Aston Martin Vanquish, this Zagato joins the two previous editions of limited-production cars. As always, it is the exotic lines of this car that make it such a delight for the eye!
Aston Martin and Zagato have obviously a long relationship together, marked with cars that became icons of the automotive world, starting with the DB4 GT Zagato. For the Speedster the front was slightly modified, now sporting larger bulges on the hood and two air outlets. It is, however, the back in which this Aston Martin truly shows the strong Italian influence of Zagato, with taillights that seemed to be inspired by the Aston Martin Vulcan, and proclaim speed even when the car is merely parked.
Performance is of course not an issue, as the Vanquish Zagato Speedster is equipped with the same engine that we find in the standard Vanquish. This naturally aspirated 5.9-liter V12 brings 580 hp to the plate and will be able to take you from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. Being a speedster, the roar of this engine can be fully appreciated, giving this Aston Martin even extra appeal.
Aston Martin and Zagato were also teasing us at the same time, with a Shooting Brake! This type of car has been produced by Aston Martin for decades, but only at request and in very limited numbers. With this new Shooting Brake, this rare car type could return in a limited edition run. Although it will only offer room for two people, the back is extended giving it the look of a dynamic station wagon, making it for one exhilarating yet rather practical GT. We cannot wait until this car reaches production stage!
