A new Mexican restaurant called Comal will open in Berkeley’s Arts District on Friday featuring regional cuisine, craft cocktails and outdoor dining.
Former manager for the band Phish, John Paluska’s latest venture is Comal, a rustic Mexican restaurant that will offer both small plates and larger, shareable entrees. Palushka’s team includes Executive Chef Matt Gandin, of San Francisco’s Delfina, and Scott Baird and Josh Harris, from the Bon Vivants, who will mix up the cocktails.
Currently open for dinner daily starting at 5:30 p.m., Comal will soon also offer brunch service.
Comal is located at 2020 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley.
