Dine for a very worthy cause on Thursday October 7 at 8 p.m., as the legendary restaurant Morton’s The Steakhouse hosts the Mondavi Wine Dinner benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Held at the Buckhead location, guests can expect to dine on delicious four course meals and wine pairings created from menus based around the event. Do some good for those in need and stop in for an unforgettable night!
The second and third generations of the esteemed Mondavi family will come together for the first time to host this charitable event that also includes a silent auction with a slew of select items up for bid including a trio of wines from Continuum Estate, Folio Fine Wine Partners and Charles Krug Winery. At the Buckhead location of the restaurant franchise, Mark McClure, who is also the Southeast regional manager of Napa Valley’s Charles Krug Winery, will act as emcee for the evening. The best part about this great event is that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, making this an extremely worthy celebration for only $175 per person.
However, it’s the food and wine that take center stage and the offerings are delicious and plentiful to say the least. Beginning with appetizers, guests have a choice of smoked salmon pizza, sliced tenderloin crostinis with horseradish and crab cakes. The appetizer wine choices are Charles Krug-Mondavi Family, Napa Valley and Sauvignon Blanc 2009. The salad is harvest greens topped with sea bass and roasted caper vinaigrette and Isabel Mondavi, Sonoma Carneros and Chardonnay 2008 serving as the wine pairings. Entrée selections include: New York strip sirloin, baked sweet onions with gruyere, roasted tomato stuffed with leafed spinach and roasted Yukon gold potatoes paired with Continuum, Napa Valley 2007, M by Michael Mondavi, Animo Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 and Charles Krug-Peter Mondavi Family and VS Cabernet Sauvignon 2006. The final course is a sinfully sweet dessert of cappuccino cream paired with dessert wines Zinfandel Port, Lot XIII, Napa Valley and Charles Krug-Peter Mondavi Family. Be sure to clear your calendar this Thursday because this is one event you definitely will not want to miss!
