Haute Event: HBO and Caesars Atlantic City Celebrate the Premiere of “Boardwalk Empire”

Thursday, Sept. 16, HBO celebrated the premiere of its much-anticipated show “Boardwalk Empire” at Caesars Atlantic City. The new series, which is directed by Martin Scorsese, takes place in the 1920s during the Prohibition-era in Atlantic City.

The event, which was appropriately ’20s-themed, included a special screening of the premiere episode at Caesars Circus Maximus Theater followed by a “Prohibition’s Eve” after-party at One Atlantic at The Pier Shops at Caesars. On the exclusive guest list were cast members Paz de la Huerta, Michael Pitt, Michael Kenneth Williams, Kelly Macdonald, Vincent Piazza, Aleksa Palladino, Dabney Coleman, Greg Antonacci, Anthony Laciura, Shea Whigham, Paul Sparks, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Erik Weiner as well as the creator and executive producer Terence Winter. Honorable Lorenzo T. Langford, Mayor of Atlantic City, and Harrah’s president Don Marrandino also attended the event to support the show.

And although the show is not actually being filmed in Atlantic City, “America’s Favorite Playground” is still taking part in the action. Specifically, select restaurants and bars throughout the city offered special “Boardwalk Empire” menus and pricing in honor of the debut weekend.

“Boardwalk Empire” premiered on Sept. 19 and airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO. To view more photos from this event, visit Haute Living’s Events Gallery.
