Haute 100 LA Update: George Clooney Reportedly Engaged to Lawyer Amal Alamuddin
By George…it looks like George Clooney is finally off the market!
According to People, the perpetual bachelor has proposed to girlfriend Amal Alamuddin, a British human rights lawyer.
A source told the magazine, “George and Amal are trying to keep things very low-key but they also aren’t really trying to hide this, it doesn’t seem. I think it’s like they want the people they love to know that this is real, that they plan on being together forever,” adding that the engagement happened “not that long ago, I think.”
Last week, the pair was spotted at Nobu Malibu with Clooney’s longtime friends Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber; Alamuddin was spotted with a very noticeable ring on her left ring finger.
Other reports site the couple celebrating an engagement with friends at West Hollywood eatery Craig’s, another Clooney favorite, last Wednesday.
A rep would not confirm or deny the reports, simply stating, “I don’t comment on my client’s personal life.”
The 52-year-old Oscar winner and 36-year-old international law and human rights lawyer were first spotted out together last October in London, and have since been snapped stepping out all over the globe, from a trip to Tanzania to a safari to a sunny trip to the Seychelles.
