The 2010 Heart Ball Phoenix gets underway this Saturday evening, Nov. 20, for its 51st year. Proceeds from this year's ball will go toward building the Halle Heart Children’s Museum, the nation’s first and only cardiovascular museum created especially for kids.

This week I had the pleasure of visiting the Miami Institute inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Brickell. For those of you who don’t know about this uber-fabulous clinic yet, it is much worth the visit. I must say it is the hautest clinic in Miami, so beautiful and peaceful.

On Oct. 21, Vanessa Getty hosted an event for her free mobile spay-and-neuter pet clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her pet project, held at the Sherman House, included a showing of Ralph Lauren's 2010 Fall collection. Guests were treated to champagne and food as they shopped and listened to pianist Robin Sutherland play tunes.

Stars and socialites mingled Thursday night at Nevada Cancer Institute’s Rock for the Cure gala in CityCenter’s Aria. Eva Lorenzotti hosted a dinner party Friday night at her home for Rena Sindi. Eva has impeccable taste as anyone would know from her company Vivre and is a superb hostess. She made the Eva Special drinks that are mojitos and dinner that she prepared herself.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, Art Lexing, Miami’s first and only Asian art-focused series, held a private media event for Kimono As Art, a four day Japanese fashion show and art installation that featured 25 one-of-a-kind Japanese kimonos, some dating back to as early as the 1920s.

On Friday, Nov. 12, Jean “Johnny” Pigozzi and celebrated the opening of his first store for his menswear line LimoLand on Washington St. in New York’s Meatpacking District.

On Tuesday, Nov. 9, the United Nations Foundation held a private ceremony to congratulate Amir Dossal on his “graduation” from the United Nations as executive director at the UN Office for Partnerships. Since joining the UN in 1985, Dossal has led a number of global initiatives aiding the efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, which include eradicating extreme poverty, reducing child mortality rates, fighting disease epidemics such as AIDS and developing a global partnership for development.

On Saturday night, Natasha and Tom Silver hosted the 38th annual Promise Ball for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The humanitarian award was giving to WSBS-TV, which was presented by Mary Tyler Moore. The award of distinction went to the Gerber family in memory of Jordy Gerber.
