Holy hotgams, Batman!
I had heard rumors of this amazing body product, Prtty Peaushun, that evens out skin tone, enhances muscles and firms skin to give you an overall glow. Being the sceptic that I am, I never believe it until I see it with my own eyes.
I hunted Prtty Peaushun down and anxiously awaited the perfect moment to use it.
A photo shoot for Fight! Magazine was where Prtty Peaushun won my heart. The story involved a lot of body and swimwear shots so I would really be able to see the product at work. It was a skin-tastic opportunity to test my new little friend.
When I arrived at the shoot, I asked the makeup artist (Zee Clemente) to try it on the models skin so I could check it out….holy smokes! It was wondrous. Zee and I stood with our mouths hanging open watching the beautiful light reflecting particles in Prtty Peaushun add the perfect shimmer to our model’s skin, it didn’t get all over the clothing, looked unbelievable and it smelled great!
Amazing. Usually it takes quite a bit of time and the mixing of several greasy products that get all over the clothing to get anything even near to that effect!
I decided to go to the source and find out more about this amazing product so I spoke with Bethany Karlyn, celebrity makeup artist and owner and creator of Prtty Peaushun, who shared with me some of the secrets behind Prtty Peaushun’s success:
Q: How did it all begin?
BK: This is the formula I have been mixing up for years for my celebrity and model clientele to use on photo shoots. I would create it in my kitchen and bring it to set in Tupperware. Everyone would ask what is was and say how much they loved it and I should bring it to market, so everyone can have it. I didn’t know if they were just being nice or if they really meant it, so it took me awhile to get up the courage to go for it.
Q: What gave you the final push to bring this Prtty Peaushun to the market?
BK: Fitness guru Tracy Anderson encouraged me the most. Those are her legs on the Web site! Without her enthusiasm and support, Prtty Peaushun may never have come to be.
Q: What’s in it? How does it work?
BK: Prtty Peaushun is made of 92 percent natural raw ingredients and is loaded with plant extracts to lift tighten, firm and help with bruising and sore muscles. The beautiful glow serves to camouflage imperfections while defining muscles, giving a sexy slimmer silhouette. It is fragrance- and dye-free and is not tested on animals. The formula is vegan and contains the following ingredients: Avocado oil and avocado butter to create suppleness and promote collagen and elastin and protein production. Both help diminish stretch marks and scars and aid with healing and soothing. Pomelo and grapefruit wax help reduce sagging and wrinkling; repair, tighten and promote elasticity; assist in detoxifying, toning, fluid drawing and reducing cellulite; uplift and stimulate; and add a light citrus scent. Jojoba gel creates suppleness. Calendula flower is an anti-inflammatory that helps with healing and soothing. Green tea extract is an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-aging and acne fighting botanical that reduces UV damage and prevents collagen breakdown; repairs, tightens and promotes elasticity; and contains caffeine, an anti-carcinogenic and helps reduce cellulite. Rosemary extract is an anti-oxidant and acne fighting botanical that reduces aches and pains related to exercise and stress; improves circulation and stimulates cell renewal, reduces appearance of varicose veins and broken capillaries and has healing and soothing properties. Allantoin promotes collagen, elastin and protein production and helps with healing and soothing. Arnica is an anti-inflammatory that diminishes bruising. Blue Vervain leaf reduces aches and pains related to exercise and stress.
Q: If you were to give women the single most important makeup tip what would it be?
BK: Take care of your skin…that is where beauty lies. Makeup should be used to enhance rather than hide.
