Burglars Hit Waverly Inn
A robbery at Graydon Carter’s West Village celebrity-clubby eatery Waverly Inn left one employee injured after he was hit in the face with a bottle. According to police, two unidentified men broke into the restaurant at 16 Bank St. just after 5 a.m. on September 2. The assailants struck a 28-year-old male staffer in the face and then made off with bottles of tequila, whiskey and gin valued at $900. The unidentified employee was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. A rep confirmed the incident and told us the staff member is “OK.” The Waverly was scheduled to be open for dinner after the incident.

Taj Hotel Teams Up With Jaquar For a Jaguar-Themed Suite
The Jaguar Suite is located at 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites and Residences, on a side-street between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Cathedral, London. The Jaguar suite is a newly added feature to the already known Taj property, and will be available from September on.

NYC’s Greenhouse Club Is Headed to Vegas
The trend in New York nightlife opening its doors in glittering Las Vegas shows no signs in slowing. Not only is 1Oak and The Box considering Sin City for a new venue, but Greenhouse has just added itself to the ever-expanding roster. A spokesperson for the eco-friendly venue says, “Greenhouse owner Jon B has been planning to move to Las Vegas for the past several months but has been waiting to finalize details on his deal. We cannot comment on a specific hotel or location.” Word has it, the club will be on the southern end of the strip.

Hautels: Grand Hyatt Malaysia to Open in 2012
This just in hotel news: The Grand Hyatt is set to open a property in Kuala Lumpur in 2012. The move marks the brand's introduction into Malaysia, further increasing the presence of Hyatt-branded hotels in Southeast Asia. The news comes shortly after the announcement of the opening of another Hyatt brand, Andaz, in Shanghai (we covered it here). In the past year, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts have been on the uprise, expanding dramatically around the world and especially in the Asian countries where tourism is at an all-time high. Tourism projections for 2012 are positive and expected to rise as well, beating out the statistics for 2010 and 2011.

Earlier this year, Hyatt announced exciting plans for expansion of its modern boutique hotel brand, Andaz, to Shanghai, China. Opening was set for summer. It's halfway through the summer season and Andaz has yet to open, but keep on the lookout as it's set to open any day now! The opening in the Xintiandi region of Shanghai marks the first Andaz in Asia. Xintiandi is an entertainment area in the heart of downtown Shanghai and a short walk to the Metro and the prestigious Huai Hai Zhong Road, one of the city's premier shopping areas, known worldwide as the shopper's paradise.

Prada Hits the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to Lackluster Response
Prada hit the Hong Kong stock market today and, while the Asian luxury consumer market has no problem shelling out the bucks for the Italian brand's coveted goods, there are concerns that Prada’s stock is overpriced. While the firm had said previously that the stock price may rise as high as HK$48, the company sold 423.2 million shares at HK$39.50 ($5) to raise a total of $2.13 billion – less than was expected.
