Karl Lagerfeld Designs Special Edition Chanel Wine Label

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld has created a special label to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Chanel winery.
While famously known as one of the world’s most popular fashion houses, Chanel also owns a winery. Acquired by Chanel in 1994, Chateau Rauzan-Segla is a winery located in the Bordeaux region of France, which was founded in 1661 by Pierre de Rauzan. The winery is celebrating 350 years and Chanel has commission designer Karl Lagerfeld to create a special label to mark the occasion.
Lagerfeld produced a sketch of the Chateau Rauzan-Segla for the label, which will be placed on the new special edition 2009 Gran Cru Classe vintage. The wine is a mix of grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The label bears his signature and is now available for pre-order at KLWines. It will also be offered nationwide at fine wine purveyors in March for $129.
