Actresses will reportedly wear only back at the 2018 Golden Globes in protest of sexual harassment and assault in entertainment.
Originally a small group of nominees had planned the dress code in solidarity. The number has grown to more than 30, and stylists are rapidly altering plans to get their clients ready in time.
2017 has been called the year of the woman after thousands of women have come forward to tell their stories as victims of sexual assault from leading men across various industries. More than 42 men have since resigned or been fired from their positions. And Time Magazine awarded their person of the year to the #MeToo movement, after millions of women shared their stories on social media.
Among the women nominated this year for Golden Globes are Jessica Chastain, Sally Hawkins, Frances McDormand, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Judi Dench, Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Stone, Helen Mirren, Mary J. Blige, Allison Janney, Octavia Spencer, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nicole Kidman, Pamela Adlon, Alison Brie, Issa Rae, and Frankie Shaw. It is not yet clear who all will participate in the protest.
