Ok, ok. I know that everyone's back on track, eating organic again with plenty of exercise now that the holiday hullabaloo has died down. And I don't mean to tempt you guys to fall off the healthy bandwagon, but Italian gelateria Grom is so incredibly delicious, it's worth throwing in the towel. At least once. Sweet tooths take note.

Ok, I know I'm a little slow on the uptake here, but I heard rumors about York Street closing so I had to do a drive by to make sure that owner and chef Sharon Hage wasn't pulling a fast one and just having some kind of exclusive wild party over there. Alas, my hopes were destroyed when I took in the lonely little building, a very small, unassuming box hidden behind a gas station in Lakewood that was always way too chic to stand out.

If you choose to stay in New England year round, there can be a lot of trade offs for seasonal availability of activities. In the winter, we turn our sites from ocean waterfront activities to mountain side snowbound adventures. Lost in the shuffle can be our favorite in between past times. One of my favorites I usually have to bid adieu to is horseback riding. The snow covered trails are often left until the spring flowers begin to appear again, depending on how hardy the breed of horse and trails men. So, it was with great delight that I discovered the heated indoor riding arena at Windkist Equestrian Centre in North Andover.

Though many may find it strange, I always seem to find myself judging a place by its bathrooms - be it a hotel room, a home or a restaurant. I think in the latter my thought is that if the bathrooms are not clean, I hate to see the conditions in the kitchen. For living spaces, I think it is because we are perhaps our most vulnerable in the bathroom. The more comforting, inviting and pleasing to the senses a bathroom space is the more I feel connected to the overall space. But, perhaps I am over sharing. I do so to...

In December, Midtown Miami welcomed the highly anticipated Sustain Restaurant + Bar to its growing repertoire of popular restaurants. Owners Brian Goldberg and Jonathan Lazar have teamed up with Chef Alejandro Piñero to successfully create an Green-inspired eatery. The restaurant is literally eco-conscious in all facets from the ingredients down to the materials used in the design—hence the name, “Sustain.”

Last night, Crystal Lourd had her birthday bash. I grabbed a quick bite first with Alexandra von Furstenburg, Dax Miller, and Jane and Jon Mass before heading over to the party. There was a disco room, dancers, a karaoke room. Such an entertaining evening with guests like Hilary and Steve Tisch, Molly Sims, Heather and Steve Munchin, Reese Witherspoon, Peter Morton, Wendy Benson Landes and Michael Landes, Brent Bolthouse, Brian Lourd, Glenn Vallecillos, Kathy and Rick Hilton, Kate Hudson, Marie Alice, and about another 200 people.

Saturday night, Stevie Wonder was spotted dining with friends and family at Tao Asian Bistro at the Venetian. They enjoyed signature dishes along with a specially prepared chicken dish from the chef and Duckhorn Merlot.
