Tommy Hilfiger introduced his Spring 2012 Men’s Collection during Fashion Week which the fashion icon describes as “Modern Prep.”

Designer Cynthia Rowley certainly changed up her usually quirky conservative style this season.Her Spring 2012 collection was young, edgy, powerful and beautifully artistic. Clearly trying to reach a younger, hipper downtown crowd, Rowley's show was described as a “flash mobs of floral and animated shapes” alive with bold painterly patterns, glittering gold hues and fabulous texture.

Comfortable and flirty, Rebecca Taylor's spring collection started with a mix of nudes and blushes splashed with citrus pops on flowy frocks, slouchy sweaters and asymmetrical cuts. Inspired by her favorite artworks from the Louve, Tayor added a little edge and elegance with glittery sequin dresses and crop tops.

NY Fashion Week will feature the first Helmut Lang runway show in five years. The Helmut Lang brand was once one of the most popular in world, featuring luxury fabrics and minimalist cuts. After being sold to Prada in 2004 – and Lang’s subsequent departure – the label was sold to Theory of Japan in 2006. Link Theory relaunched the brand in 2007, and now it is under the design and direction of Michael and Nicole Colovos. The move has re-energized the brand and brought it back to prominence. The Helmut Lang label is now in luxury department stores and Helmut Lang boutiques around the world.

Hermès, one of the oldest luxury fashion houses from France is finding it difficult to meet the soaring demand for their high end (and high-priced) £500 silk scarves and £6,000 handbags. The company has declared a 50% jump in the profits for the first six months of the year. Its famed Kelly and Birkin handbags are witnessing unprecedented demand in the US and Japan.
