Alta Palla Celebrates Summer With Rooftop Event At The Battery

Todd Berardi certainly knows how to throw a rocking summer cocktail party. Last week, the founder of Hiball, San Francisco’s very own energy drink, hosted a rooftop happy hour at the Battery. The party was to commemorate two milestones with Berardi’s company: the 10-year anniversary of the energy drink and the launch of their newest product, a line of flavored sparkling waters called Alta Palla. For the past decade Hiball has been the pioneer for natural, healthy, and clean energy beverages. The drink has a proprietary blend of organic ingredients including guarana, ginseng, caffeine, and vitamins B3, B5, B6, and B12. No artificial components, sweeteners, colors, or synthetics are used to make the drinks, which are sold at health-conscious grocers Whole Foods Markets and Sprouts. Berardi’s tagline is “it’s all good” and this mentality was reflected at the penthouse party.

Guests mingled while perusing the delicious goods at two large stations overflowing with housemade charcuterie, country pate, cheese, dried fruit, nuts, and crackers. The Battery’s kitchen served up a nostalgic and playful menu of passed appetizers: delectable pigs-in-a-blanket, mini croque monsieur, and crispy shell tacos. The bar poured cocktails made with Alta Palla and wine from the Battery’s private crush. DJ Juan Love, a former professional skateboarder, mixed reggae while the conversation flowed. Notable attendees on hand to support Hiball were a handful of old and new football stars like Joe Montana, and his wife Jennifer, Seattle Seahawks tight end, Cooper Helfet, and the Miami Dolphins defensive end, Dion Jordan. Winter sports were also represented by Olympic Gold Medal skier, Jonny Moseley, professional snowboarders, Brian Iguchi and Ralph Backstrom, and professional free skier, Todd Ligare. Local luminaries in attendance were Liza and Joey Cannata, Alison and Alex Turner, Peter Stern and his wife, Lori Puccinelli-Stern, and Jim and Heather Rosenfield.
