Two iconic Italian brands collide with the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna concept car that launched today at the Detroit Auto show. That would be Maserati—as in the masterfully engineered luxury sportscar manufacture— and Ermenegildo Zegna—the family owned maker of exquisite Italian suits currently at the helm of former Yves Saint Laurent designer, Stefano Pilati. The car’s exterior exudes the tasteful masculine qualities of a grey flannel suit and the interior reflects the buttery bridle leather of a well worn attaché’.

Zegna created the car in close collaboration with Maserati’s engineering teams applying techniques and materials new to the design of Maserati automobiles; the lush color that the car comes in has never before been used. The interior details are made with the finest leathers and natural fabrics that are inherent to the Zegna brand. The passenger compartment is adorned in leather trim and Zegna anthracite silk. The door panels contain Zegna silk jersey embellished with their signature diagonal roll pattern. Every inch of the machine is Zegna-ized to make for a Maserati of stately good taste. Because it’s a concept car it’s unfortunately not available for purchase. Traditionally, however, a Ghibli’s price begins at $77,950 at Maserati showrooms and dealers world-wide.
