Lenny Kravitz takes Miami

The “magic city” is quickly cementing its reputation as the “Miami version of New York’s ‘SoHo’ reincarnation, circa 1960s,” and no one could be more enthused by the developments taking place than Miami resident, Lenny Kravitz.

“The fact that this whole area has been, and is, developing with galleries and interesting places, it’s really changing the Miami lifestyle.’’ Lenny Kravitz is no stranger to Miami, and with the city stepping up in several different arenas, such as art, fashion and film, the musician-turned-designer is thrilled to take part in the change.

Kravitz’s Miami is somewhat different than you might think. The iconic musician identifies with Miami’s Biscayne neighborhood more so than with the ever-so-popular tourist destination that is South Beach. “I grew up here on and off,’’ he said, “my mother’s side is from the Bahamas, and a lot of my relatives settled here. Not South Beach. This is the part of Miami that I knew.’’

The Biscayne area is home to Paramount Bay, the condo tower that was recently outfitted by Kravitz’s new company, Kravitz Design. The New York-based interior design firm designed the 47-floor tower, which has 364 units and features a spa, pool, club room and business lounge. Paramount Bay also happens to be the place in Miami that Kravitz calls home.
