1 The 37th Annual Cattle Baron's Ball
Hopefully this year's event at Southfork Ranch will prove to be a little more dry, after last year's rainy fiasco that left many bejeweled sling backs caked in mud and limousines spinning their wheels. But hey, it's all for a good cause: the world's largest single-night fundraiser for cancer research, in fact. In 36 year's, Cattle Baron's attendees have helped raise over $40 million for the American Cancer Society. So go check out performances by Alan Jackson and Jack Ingram on October 9th to continue the tradition.

2 Crystal Charity Ball
For 58 years the Crystal Charity Ball has worked to benefit local charities that help children. The annual fashion show in September produced by Neiman Marcus is a flashy precedent to the ball itself, held each winter as witness to Cinderella-like gowns and ballroom dancing. It's almost as important as the Best Dressed competition, held the spring afterward.

3 Pegasus Ball
The Fairmont Hotel plays host to the Pegasus Ball in September, a blacktie gala held as part of the Roundup for Autism, benefitting the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the event, founded by Bobby Norris in honor of his daughter who has autism.

5 Women That Soar's 2010 Brilliantly You Awards
Men may be the head of the household, but Dallas women are the brains behind the scenes. What better way to recognize this than a gala honoring the bright, beautiful ladies of the big D? Join the honorees and the men that love them this September at the historic Majestic Theater downtown.
