The Art of the Game

Gaming enthusiasts who also appreciate the aesthetics of haute interiors have received an answer to their prayers and it goes by the name Lugata. This unique patented product easily converts from a billiard table to a ping-pong table and back again, complete with a button that electronically lowers it three inches when converting to ping-pong for a perfect playing height.

We all know how much of an eyesore a gaming table can be amidst a decadently decorated living space, but curve-loving company Kitchen Expo thought of that too. From his love of the game, founder Rick Fahmie conceptualized the table to be an original work of art, not just a disguised ping-pong table. “I wanted a gaming table in my own home that would represent a high level of sophistication and would be beautiful enough to display in the living and social environment in the house. I hated having friends over when the party would get divided up because people had to go in a totally different area of the house to play ping-pong,” he explained.

Fahmie didn’t just create any standard ping-pong table; his creation is a true luxury item. Kitchen Expo is known for seeking out exotic logs and burl woods to fabricate into beautiful furniture pieces with the best finishes in the world. The Lugata did not get left behind with its exquisite hand-carved woodwork and veneers sought out from international destinations. The table comes with custom finishes in a veneer of the owner’s choosing and is designed for years of fun times surrounded by friends. The table is priced at $55,000, and is available through Kitchen Expo or at
