Douglas Hannant is a luxury staple amongst Manhattan’s social elite. (I reported this back in September when I attended his fabulous Spring 2011 fashion show.) And although Hannant is well-known throughout the city for his stunning gowns and wedding couture, today at The Payne Whitney Mansion, he was not holding another runway show. Instead, dozens of New York’s finest gathered in the elegant event space,to celebrate Hannant’s official launch of his first-ever fragrance, Douglas Hannant de Robert Piguet.

Powerhouse fashion label Nautica officially unveiled their men’s Fall 2011 collection earlier today at the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Upon walking in to the gallery space, Nautica lived up to their brand image as fine purveyors of casual, maritime couture by laying out planks of worn, sandy colored wood as though you were walking out onto a dock or descending a beach walkway.

The bright colors of imperial India were abundantly present in Victor de Souza’s Fall/Winter 2011 runway show.

In Miami Beach, we always expect our usual lineup of fashion shows and fashion events such like Fashion Week of The Americas and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim. However, just recently, there has been an addition to the fashion roster. And get ready, Miami, for Miami Design District Fashion Week!

Yesterday evening, as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, W Hotels presented the fourth season of its exclusive Global Glam Collection at the Box at Lincoln Center. This was the second time that W Hotels as participated in the New York Fashion week lineup and was one of this year’s most anticipated shows. W Hotels’ Global Fashion Director, Amanda Ross is the brains behind this fascinating marriage of hospitality, architecture, and fashion. She commissioned 15 designers to create original pieces each reflecting the aesthetics of three new or newly renovated W hotel properties.

New York Fashion Week has officially begun. There's a certain buzz around this week. New Yorkers run around frantically (but with smiles on their faces); cup of coffee in one hand and Blackberry in the other, all the while attempting to snag cabs from fellow editors so they make it to the next show (across town) in time.

Some of the biggest names in music gathered together on Thursday night, Feb. 10, along with Delta Air Lines, the official air line of the Grammy Awards for the fourth year in a row, in an event hosted by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to celebrate L.A.’s music industry at his mansion, The Getty House. The event, which included a talented mix of industry legends, like Chaka Khan and Debbie Allen, as well as some of today’s most popular artists and nominees, such as B.o.B. and Cee-Lo, served as an exciting and enchanting way to kick off the start to the 2011 Grammy weekend.

Fashion Week is officially underway here in New York and the atmosphere around Lincoln Center was already at full buzz yesterday afternoon when I stopped by the Empire Hotel to see the Porsche Design Fashion Lounge. Though the Porsche Design brand may be predominantly known for selling high-end accoutrements like lighters, sunglasses, leather goods, and even a fragrance line, the luxury name is now expanding their recently launched fashion collection.

During long winters like this one, I just want to hop on a jet plane to the beautiful West Coast to spend the next few weeks relaxing on the beach. On Wednesday, Feb. 9, the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City hosted an exclusive launch event to unveil the first-ever Jimmy Choo fragrance. Jimmy Choo’s Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Tamara Mellon was there to celebrate the launch, joined by Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr. Jessica arrived black patent Jimmy Choo stilettos, carrying a jeweled maroon Jimmy Choo clutch. “The fragrance is so elegant, it could be my new clutch!” Jessica exclaimed. The actress was also overheard talking about her fashion week plans, such as designer Chris Benz’s show which will take place on Feb. 14.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Brian McKnight hosted an intimate – and free – concert for fans at the Avalon Hollywood this past Tuesday night. The footage from the show will be included in McKnight’s upcoming Just Me album and DVD release, slated to hit stores this April.
