Haute Fashion: Porsche Design Fashion Lounge Introduces First Women’s Collection

Fashion Week is officially underway here in New York and the atmosphere around Lincoln Center was already at full buzz yesterday afternoon when I stopped by the Empire Hotel to see the Porsche Design Fashion Lounge. Though the Porsche Design brand may be predominantly known for selling high-end accoutrements like lighters, sunglasses, leather goods, and even a fragrance line, the luxury name is now expanding their recently launched fashion collection. For the first time, Porsche Design is proud to present a collection for women in Spring/Summer 2011. Following the initial success of the men’s line, the women’s collection features similarly designed leather jackets that showcase hand-made production and a sporty aesthetic, which makes for a classic and refined appearance.

Also on display by Porsche Design was their exclusive premium denim collection for the Autumn/Winter 2011 season. Featuring both men’s and women’s styles, the Porsche Design denim series was created in cooperation with fellow German fashion brand Blessed & Cursed, and are crafted only from the finest in Japanese denim. The strategic partnership with Blessed & Cursed will help gather international attention to the denim line as celebrities such as Rihanna, Fergie, and Bon Jovi all are noted wearers of the brand. Wash styles include “Black Black,” “Blue Stone Washed,” as well as “Mechanic Blue,” and will feature embellishments like screws instead of rivets at pocket corners, metal nameplates riveted to the coin pocket, and specially designed zippers with a carbon look.
