Haute Dining: 10 Questions for Rob Shamlian of Spitzer’s Corner and Los Feliz
I can’t recall how many times I walked by Spitzer’s Corner and Los Feliz, both on the Lower East Side, and didn’t go inside. I sort of regarded them as bars first and foremost, but these are drinking establishments with great food, so enjoying a multi-course dinner along with local beer (Spitzer's beer list is wildly appealing) and cocktails (made with homemade infusions) is not only possible but welcome.

The Top 5 Places to Sip Sake in Las Vegas
Some like it hot. Connoisseurs like it cold. But any way you drink it, sake is making a big scene on the menus of some Las Vegas menus.
But first, a primer, since this drink is still rather new to American palettes. Sake is an alcoholic drink brewed from rice. Even though it’s brewed like beer, it’s not made from a grain. And technically it’s not a rice wine either. Like wine though, sake can be graded. The more the rice is milled, the better the sake will be. Milling removes the fat and protein from the grains, leaving behind a cleaner, more elegant flavor. About 85 percent of sake is the normal table kind (futshu). The next-higher grades are honjozo and junmai; followed by ginjo and junmai ginjo; and then the highest are daiginjo and junmai daiginjo.
Drink your sake from a glass instead of masu, a box made of wood. And good sake should be served like revenge, cold.
Now that you have some basic knowledge, take a look at the top five places to find sake in Las Vegas. Kanpai.
