Artist Chloe Early Sells Out in Los Angeles

News | October 26, 2010

Irish artist Chloe Early came to Los Angeles this past weekend for a bang up, smackdown, sell out show in Culver City at the Corey Helford Gallery on Washington.

Her latest exhibition “Birdsong and Machine Sounds” takes inspiration from classical art, myth and memory to immortalize an epic visual encounter with John Milton’s Paradise Lost. A contemporary narrative about Adam and Eve caught between the beauty of nature and the fallout of post industrialization, “Birdsong and Machine Sounds” consists of twelve oil paintings on linen, aluminum and perspex.

Originally from Cork, Early now resides in London – within spitting distance of her significant other’s own studio (Conor Harrington, who is repped by Steve Lazarides of Banksy fame). Obviously one influences the other, which can be spotted in various works by both.

While Harrington was there to support it was Chloe who was there to represent. I found out that every single piece had sold out just prior to Saturday night’s opening.

Needless to say you can still get your hands on some of her work – there are signed prints available at the gallery upon request.

Chloe Early runs through November 10th.
