Career success is something that most of us strive for and moreover, we are often looking for potential partners or employees that engender a degree of success unparalleled in their competition — but is there an indicator of that success-to-come? Some point towards dedication and attention to detail, while others are more focused on “connectedness” and vision. While these are all important characteristics, a new report by Forbes points to a very different metric: Brokerage and Open Networks.
“The bottom line? According to multiple, peer-reviewed studies, simply being in an open network instead of a closed one is the best predictor of career success,” explained Michael Simmons.
