The Welcome to Las Vegas Sign Goes Pink in October

Now through the end of the month, pink light bulbs will illuminate the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign in recognition of national Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Local Clark County officials flipped the switch at 9 a.m. on Thursday to start the month-long awareness program.
The Welcome to Las Vegas sign is located on the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard, known here as the Strip, and welcomes millions of visitors every year. It was designed by Betty Willis for Western Sign Co. and erected in 1959, and is currently operated by YesCo Sign Co. The standard light bulbs around the sign are yellow.
