These destinations will be erected in urban areas, with initial plans to open venues in a handful of U.S.cities. On their list are New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Miami, Los Angeles, and our fair city, San Francisco. Though these are the current set of locations, Branson hopes to eventually expand to over 25 over the next 10 years.

Upon announcing the plans to build these luxury hotels, Branson stated, “I’ve had great fun turning quite a lot of different industries on their heads and making sure those industries would never be the same because Virgin took them on.” Virgin Group will be dedicating $500 million to the Virgin Hotel project. Their key goals are to host guests in four star quality hotels, located in major North American cities. Their buildings will have between 150-400 rooms with ample communal space.

With over 25 years in travel and hospitality experience, they hope this will be another great venture to add to their already impressive list of successful companies. This announcement is great news for travelers. With Virgin responsible for their flights and hotels, vacationers will most likely receive amazing travel deals on some great North American destinations.
