Although donating blood is no picnic and for some may even be quiet scary, the PlumpJack Group has managed to make this charitable act a little more enjoyable. For the sixth year in a row, the “Burger for a Pint” blood drive is in full motion. Don’t miss out on your chance for a free burger and fries, compliments of Balboa Café.

You can visit www.bloodheros.com and enter the sponsor code, Balboa-SF or Balboa-Mill Valley depending on the location you will be donating. The other option is to simply show up and donate, then head over to the restaurant and enjoy. Donations started at 1p.m. and will continue through to 7 p.m. this evening at the San Francisco location on Fillmore. Those missing out today will have another opportunity to give blood on the 28^th at the Mill Valley location between 1 and 7 p.m. Certificates for your free burger are good for a year. You didn’t expect the Balboa staff to be waiting with pre-made burgers outside the donation truck, did you?

Don’t worry if you can’t stomach actually donating blood. This is a semi-annual event and you’ll have plenty of time to conquer those fears in time for round two. But really would you want to pass up the opportunity of indulging in one of San Francisco’s best burgers for free? Didn’t think so.
