Taking an all to big for their own britches attitude, Manhattan’s Soho House in the Meatpacking District is purging boring members to make way for more cool players. About 500 have received the boot with another 500 expected to go soon.
Founder Nick Jones says he’s trying to get rid of the stuffy corporate vibe and bring back the cool feel that gave the private club and hotel its 15 minutes of fame in the “Sex and the City” episode where Samantha gets kicked out because she’s not a member. They’re going for a “under 27” membership with a “less business suits and more bathing suits” feel.
