This Saturday, August 5, is National Oyster Day 2017. Here is where to get some shucking good oysters in the City of Angels.

Come see “The Oyster Whisperer” Chef Rigo Dugal—he can shuck 15 oysters in one minute!—at this seafood staple. Varieties range from Kumamotos to Sweet Petites.

On National Oyster Day the popular Thai pop-up will be shucking oysters all day at their Oyster Social on their outdoor patio which will pair perfectly with glasses of wine and bubbly.Enjoy varieties like Thai-American Oysters in quantities of half dozen and a dozen. A full menu will also be available that day featuring Dungeness Crab Fried Rice, Clay Pot Baked Prawns, Roasted Duck Flatbread and Baked Whole Branzino along with wine and bubbly specials by the glass and bottle. In addition to being just steps away from the ocean, Captain Kidd’s oceanside hotspot will offer $1 oysters until they run out. Served with a lemon and hot sauce or choose to have them fried, every  oyster > is sourced from the best parts of the ocean ensure quality and consistency. Pair your meal with Rose, wine or indulge in one of Captain Kidd’s mixed cocktails – Coconut Mojito, Moscow Mule or Margarita – all made in-house and available on tap.

This modern-American seafood and steak-centric restaurant by Cameron Mitchell is offering a special Pemaquid Oyster, also known as the “Cadillac of Oysters” available at Beverly Hills and all locations. From the deep waters of Damariscotta River, Maine. Pemaquid Oysters are harvested from a point where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean. Pemaquid Oysters have plump, very firm meat which is mildly sweet with a clean, lemon zest flavor and solid brininess. 

This West Hollywood hotspot located in the Mondrian hotel, is offering $2 oysters available during brunch (7:00am – 3:00pm).
