Le Diner en Blanc Celebrates Largest Turnout Ever in NYC

Tuesday night, New York celebrated the globally-held event, Le Diner en Blanc at secret location Pier 26. It was the perfect spot with sweeping views of the Hudson River and Battery Park including the magnificent Freedom Tower in the backdrop. A record 5,000 guests showed with their picnic baskets, tables, chairs, and white tablecloths in tow.

Co-creators Aymeric Pasquier and Sandy Safi mingled with attendees while Chef Todd English returned to cook after his successful stint last year and by popular demand.

Whether it was a romantic date night or just an evening out with friends or family, all guests were dressed elegantly in their all white attire. Some kept it formal while others opted for trendy with elaborate head pieces, statement jewelry and accessories. Others got creative decorating their tables with candles, roses, hydrangeas, and other ornaments. One couple even brought a ceramic white cage holding two doves, who were appropriately named “Sweetie” and “Pie”.

Perrier-Jouët sponsored the event and kept the cups filled with bubbly with their selection of Grand Brut NV, Blason Rosé, and the Belle Époque.

This was Le Diner en Blanc’s fifth appearance in NYC with last year’s being held at Rockefeller Park, the year before at Bryant Park, in 2012 at the Lincoln Center, and the very first at Battery Park.
