Just when I thought that Iād seen everything when it comes to making burgers, I come across this very interesting item from Chef Matthew Pollock of Epic (112 West Hubbard Street). Each month Chef Pollock creates a different burger and beer pairing, available in the lounge and on the rooftop, and for October itās all about pumpkins. He has created a prime burger topped with fried pumpkin, caramelized apple and Swiss cheese. The burger will be served with seasoned, hand-cut fries and a bottle of Lakefront Breweryās Pumpkin Lager, all for fifteen bucks. I donāt know if I havenāt been paying attention or maybe I just donāt get out enough, but this is the first time I have heard of fried pumpkin on a burger and although Iām not a particular fan of pumpkin, I definitely have to try this out.
