Jackson Browne, Ben Harper, Tedeschi Trucks On Tap for JAS June Festival

News | June 21, 2013

Jazz Aspen Snowmass’ June Festival kicks off tonight with a sold-out performance featuring Jackson Browne in the Benedict Music Tent. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, famous for songs like “Running on Empty” and “Take it Easy,” is joined onstage by former Nickel Creek member Sara Watkins. Tomorrow blues-rocker Ben Harper will be joined by harmonica virtuoso Charlie Musselwhite. On Sunday evening, husband-and-wife team Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks bring their Grammy Award-winning sound back to Aspen to round out the weekend. All showtimes are 8 p.m., and tickets to Saturday and Sunday’s show are available here.

Before each show, JAS is hosting a Nightly Lawn Party, featuring food, drinks and dancing on the lawn in front of the music tent before the action starts inside. Music from MEZCLA and the Afro Cuban Jazz Allstars will entertain concert-goers. And even though tickets are going fast to each night’s performance, it’s always free to sit on the lawn surrounding the tent and take in the sounds on a picnic blanket.
