Gordon Ramsay Loses Michelin Star

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay isn’t too happy right now, and with reason. His tax woes and debt were unpleasant enough in 2009, and then his restaurant sales went downhill as the icing on the cake, but it doesn’t seem like there’s any light at the end of the tunnel for him yet. During the start of 2010, his Gordon Ramsay At Claridge’s restaurant has lost its Michelin star in the 2010 Michelin Guide.

Regardless of a food poisoning scare, Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck at Bray in Berkshire kept all three of its stars, as did The Waterside Inn in Bray. Michelin Guide even awarded its first star to The Harwood Arms.

Ramsay is reportedly very disappointed to lose the star, but is determined to regain it. According to him, the loss was probably caused by his new idea to offer less expensive, and therefore simpler meals to attract customers during this recession.
