Yountville may be the known as the culinary capital of the Napa Valley but there’s lots of great wine to be enjoyed in this charming town as well. One tasting room that is getting special attention these days for its homey nature is Silver Trident Winery Tasting Home, which is bringing together the magic of candlelight and the delights of wine tasting—two pleasures not usually combined in winery tasting rooms.

Silver Trident Tasting Home offers the wine country visitor and locals something that’s truly never been done before. Elevating the traditional tasting room to a new level of luxury, the Tasting Home is furnished with Ralph Lauren Home products in the manner of a tasteful and elegant residential estate. You can enjoy the distinguished Silver Trident wines as you browse through the Home. The Tasting Home consists of a living room, dining room and library showcasing the furniture, floor coverings, lighting and tabletop accents from the Ralph Lauren Home collection. Everything from the chandeliers overhead to the carpets underfoot, from teak, silver and leather serving trays to crystal wine goblets – as well as the wines – is available for purchase. Alongside the assortment of Ralph Lauren Home products is a thoughtfully curated collection of antiques, books and artwork sourced from around the world.

“This is a way to celebrate the glamour of our Tasting Home, illuminating the rich finishes and sumptuous fabrics of our Ralph Lauren Home furnishings,” explains Bob Binder, founder and proprietor. “We wanted to offer an elegant and seasonal ambiance for our guests,” he added. “Our Ralph Lauren Home candelabras, hurricanes, sconces and other candlesticks have been illuminated to celebrate the season,” he said.

Through the holiday and winter season, from 5:00 p.m. every evening until closing at 7:00 p.m., the Tasting Home will light candles throughout its interiors. Tastings will offer five wines with five complementary nuanced ‘bites’ designed by noted chef Sarah Scott. The newest wine and accompanying hors d’oeuvre will be the combination of the 2010 Silver Trident Twenty Seven Fathoms Cabernet Sauvignon with a bittersweet Valrhona chocolate topped with Cabernet sea salt.

Located at 6495 Washington Street, the Tasting Home opens at noon and closes at 7:00 p.m. seven days a week. Reservations are requested only for groups larger than 6. The Tasting Home, which these days also sparkles with stylish Christmas décor created by renowned Los Angeles-based designer Trevor Howells, boasts a handsome upstairs loft room—perfect for special events.
