Dripping with style and smarts, Mad Men changed the television landscape forever. The show, which centers around one man’s journey through the advertising world of the 1960’s, ushered in a new wave of prestige cable dramas and introduced a new generation to haute 60’s fashion. To celebrate the Mad Men’s final season, here’s a list of delicious, tequila-infused cocktails inspired by the show. Each drink features Tequila Avión, a distinct, ultra-premium tequila that would fit right at home in any Mad Men fan’s liquor cabinet.

image001The Don Draper
On the surface, Don Draper is a simple man’s man, but as any devoted Mad Men viewer knows, his facsade belies hidden secrets and complexities. The mad man at the center of the television phenomenon deserves a classically-styled cocktail with some interesting twists that keep you guessing.

2 oz. Avión Anejo
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
1 Orange slice
1 Cherry
Dash of bitters
Muddle cherry, orange, bitters & simple syrup. Add Avión Anejo, ice & shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with orange peel.

Madison Ave
Madison Avenue is home to the titans of the advertising industry, and the creative output of the ad men and women that work there has informed much of the 21st century’s most recognizable popular culture. What better way to recharge those creative juices than with a cocktail with a ton of energetic flavors.

1 1/2 oz. Tequila Avión Anejo
1/2 oz. Rye whiskey
1/2 oz. Cinnamon schnapps
1 oz. Pear pure
3/4 oz. Lemon juice
1/4 oz. Simple syrup
Cinnamon stick for garnish
Combine all ingredients in an ice filled shaker, shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a Collins or highball glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

The After Hours
After a long day of chain-smoking, office politics, and unhappy clients, a simple, stiff drink is just what the doctor ordered. The After Hours is pretty basic — only containing two ingredients— but as any ad man knows, less is often more.

1 part Avión Espresso Tequila
2 parts Avión Anejo
Pour ingredients into a rocks glass over ice. Stir.
