2 Red O's The Benjamin
The Benjamin—the divine margarita at Rick Bayless' upscale Mexican eatery Red O— will cost you 100 big ones—and it's worth it. You'll find three types of extra anejo tequila—Gran Patron Burdeos, Partida Elegante and Herradura Seleccion Suprema— as well as a special cuvee of Grand Marnier, fresh squeezed Mexican lime juice, organic agave syrup and lime sorbet ice cubes topped with Louis XIII Cognac and blood orange "caviar" and edible gold flakes on the rim. Yep, it's all about the Benjamin, baby.
3 The Purista at Gracias Madre
The Purista, Gracias Madre Beverage Director Jason Eisner's take on a classic margarita, is for the, well, margarita purist. The libation at this lovely Mexican specific vegan eatery contains tequila reposado, agave, lime, orange bitters, and a sweet orange salt rim. Don't be shy: request that it be made spicy or with mezcal for an extra smokey kick.
4 The Sangria Margarita at Border Grill
Margaritas, traditionally, have fresh lime, tequila and triple sec, but why be boring? Susan Feniger certainly isn't, so you should expect that she'd take things up a notch at her downtown eatery, Border Grill. Order up the fruity Sangria Margarita—Sauza blanco, Spanish sangria, fresh orang, lime, melon and pineapple—for something different.
