Valentino: the Master of Couture Comes to the Somerset House

Valentino is one of the world’s most beloved fashion designers, and from now until March 3, London’s Somerset House will be celebrating his life and  work with a can’t-miss new installation. Divided into three parts, each leg of the exhibition will offer a unique look at the incredible story behind the fashion icon.
The exhibition begins by giving Valentino fans a glimpse into the private life of the designer via a selection of photographs from his personal archives. Visitors will then be led onto a catwalk, where more than 130 exquisite haute couture gowns worn by the likes of Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren and Jackie Kennedy Onassis will come to life.
The final segment explores the fascinating and painstaking process which goes into the creation of each of Valentino’s couture gowns, following the process behind the creation of Princess Marie Chantal of Greece’s wedding dress as an example.
In all, the installation is an true indulgence for fashion fanatics. If the beauty of the exhibit were not enough to feast your eyes on, there will also be a specially commissioned selection of films on view which will give intimate access inside Valentino’s atelier, where the magic happens.
